ROBERT W. IULIANO |
| |
Principal Practice Areas: faculty and student affairs, sponsored
research, regulatory compliance, litigation, investigations, labor and
employment, law enforcement, and intellectual property.
Background: Mr. Iuliano graduated from Harvard College
and the University of Virginia School of Law, where he served as
Editor-in-Chief of the Virginia Law Review, was a member of the Order
of the Coif, and received the Earle K. Shaw Award as the outstanding
labor relations student. After clerking for the Honorable Levin H.
Campbell of the United States Court of Appeals for the First Circuit,
he worked in the labor and litigation departments of the Boston law
firm Choate, Hall & Stewart. Subsequently, he was an Assistant
United States Attorney with the Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task
Force in Boston and prosecuted violations of federal gun, drug, and
money laundering laws. He currently teaches at the Harvard Graduate
School of Education.

DIANE E. LOPEZ

Principal Practice Areas: commercial contract law and litigation,
intellectual property and technology transfer issues, student affairs,
research administration issues, internal investigations and insurance
matters, and health law.
Background: A magna cum laude graduate of Mount Holyoke College,
Ms. Lopez received her J.D. from Columbia University Law School. Following
graduation, she joined O’Melveny & Myers where she remained for eight years,
concentrating her practice in commercial litigation. At Harvard she assists
the University on a variety of commercial transactions, with a focus on ways
the University can protect and manage its intellectual property assets. She
advises on health care, privacy, and student affairs issues, on concerns
involving the use of human subjects and animals in research, and on issues
involving third-party access to research data. Ms. Lopez has spent significant
time on legal and legislative matters related to human embryonic stem cell
research. She is a member of the University’s Incident Support Team, which
coordinates the University’s response to major crisis events. Her outside
activities include being a Trustee and the Treasurer of the Institute of
Contemporary Art/Boston.

JONATHAN H. HULBERT

Principal Practice Areas: Intellectual property, domestic and
international technology licensing, commercial law, sponsored research,
business ventures.
Background: Mr. Hulbert received a B.A. from Reed
College (Phi Beta Kappa), an M.A., with honors, from the University of
California at Berkeley, and a J.D. from the University of California at
Berkeley School of Law, where he was a member of the Order of the Coif.
In 1987, he taught Securities Regulations as an Adjunct Professor at
Hastings College of the Law, University of California. Mr. Hulbert
practiced general corporate and business law in San Francisco, before
coming to the Boston area, where he joined Foley, Hoag & Eliot
LLP. Before moving to the General Counsel’s office, he was a
partner at Foley Hoag for almost 10 years, concentrating in
intellectual property and licensing, sales and distribution
arrangements, corporate finance and securities law.

BRADLEY ABRUZZI |

Principal Practice Areas: litigation, investigations, faculty and
student affairs, sponsored research, and health law.
Background: Mr. Abruzzi studied English literature at
Princeton University and New York University, obtaining Bachelor's and
Master's degrees, before going on to Harvard Law School, where he
served as Executive Editor on the Harvard Law Review. Upon graduating
cum laude from Harvard, Mr. Abruzzi worked for a year at Bromberg
& Sunstein LLP in Boston, primarily on intellectual property
matters. He then served a term as law clerk to the Honorable Nancy
Gertner in Boston's federal district court. After his clerkship, Mr.
Abruzzi joined the litigation department of Foley Hoag LLP, where he
handled constitutional, immigration law, securities, patent
infringement, product liability and white-collar crime cases.

ELLEN FELS BERKMAN |

Background: Ms. Berkman received her B.A. magna cum
laude with highest honors from Harvard College and attended Columbia
Law School, where she was Notes Editor of the Law Review. Following law
school, Ms. Berkman clerked for the Honorable Joyce Hens Green of the
United States District Court for the District of Columbia. Prior to
joining the Office of the General Counsel, Ms. Berkman was a partner
with the law firms of Baker Botts L.L.P. and Miller, Cassidy, Larroca
& Lewin, L.L.P., both firms located in Washington, DC. She
concentrated her practice in the areas of complex civil litigation and
criminal defense, including government and internal investigations,
statutory and constitutional matters, employment disputes, and
contract-related issues.

JULIE FABER |

Background: Ms. Faber received a B.A., summa cum laude, from Bowdoin College (Phi Beta Kappa), an M.A. with high honors in Politics from Princeton University, and a J.D. from Harvard Law School. Prior to joining the Office of the General Counsel, Ms. Faber was a University Attorney in the Vanderbilt Office of the General Counsel for fourteen years, providing legal services to Vanderbilt University and Vanderbilt Medical Center. She concentrated on corporate law, commercial transactions, health law, conflicts of interest issues, technology transfer and real estate. She also served as counsel to the University Conflicts Committee and as secretary to the Board of Trust Ad Hoc Committee on Corporate Governance.

EILEEN FINAN |

affirmative action, faculty and student affairs.
Background: Ms. Finan received her B.A. degree summa cum
laude from Boston College and attended Columbia Law School, where she
was an editor of the Law Review. Following law school, Ms. Finan
clerked for the Honorable Wilfred Feinberg of the United States Court
of Appeals for the Second Circuit. Before joining the Office of the
General Counsel, Ms. Finan practiced for six years with the law firm of
Palmer & Dodge, where she concentrated in the areas of labor
and employment, with particular emphasis on representing higher
education clients. Prior to law school, Ms. Finan served as Managing
Editor of Rutgers University Press. She also holds a Ph.D. in English
from Rutgers University.

REBECCA GINZBURG |

Background: Ms. Ginzburg received a B.A. in Law, Jurisprudence and Social Thought, magna cum laude, from Amherst College, and a J.D., magna cum laude, from Boston University School of Law. During law school, she served as Notes Editor on the Boston University Law Review. Upon graduation, Ms. Ginzburg practiced for three years in the corporate department of Ropes & Gray LLP, focusing on debt financing, private equity and sports law. She currently teaches in the First-Year Writing Program at Boston University School of Law.

PETER KATZ |

Principal Practice Areas: corporate and commercial law, international ventures, intellectual property, technology licensing, privacy.
Background: Mr. Katz is a graduate of Harvard College and Harvard Law School. After law school he clerked for the Honorable Benjamin H. Kaplan of the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court and worked in the Mayor's Office of Criminal Justice, an agency of the City of Boston. He then joined the Boston law firm Hill & Barlow where he became a partner and served as a member of the firm's management committee and as chair of the corporate department and of the intellectual property practice group. He came to the Office of the General Counsel from the Boston office of the law firm Day Pitney LLP, where he was a partner. At Harvard, Mr. Katz advises on the planning and structuring of international projects and assists with consulting and other vendor agreements, licensing deals, and a variety of general corporate transactions. He also counsels on privacy and data security issues. Mr. Katz is a member of the University committee on investment policies for retirement plans.

GREGORY L. POPPE |

Background: Mr. Poppe received a B.A. in Mathematics, magna cum laude,
from the University of Pennsylvania and a J.D. from the University of Chicago.
He subsequently practiced general corporate and business law with the Stamford,
Connecticut law firm, Cummings & Lockwood, before joining Bergman, Horowitz &
Reynolds, P.C. (now Withers Bergman L.L.P.), a tax specialty firm in New Haven,
Connecticut, where he was a partner for seven years concentrating in tax, estate
planning and general corporate and business law.

HEATHER M. QUAY |

Background: A magna cum laude graduate of the University
of Pennsylvania, Ms. Quay also attended the London School of Economics

estate law, representing a range of businesses, individuals,
municipalities and institutions. Ms. Quay also served as a law clerk to
the Honorable Reginald C. Lindsay of the United States District Court

DANIEL S. RABINOVITZ

Principal Practice Areas: real estate development and land use,
permitting, zoning, acquisitions and dispositions, construction and
leasing.
Background: Mr. Rabinovitz received his A.B. magna cum
laude from Harvard College and attended the Harvard Law School .
Following graduation, Mr. Rabinovitz served as a law clerk for the
Honorable William G. Young of the United States District Court,
District of Massachusetts, and then served as Administrative
Assistant/Counsel to Massachusetts Congressman Edward J. Markey. Before
joining the Office of the General Counsel, Mr. Rabinovitz was a partner
in the law firm of Goulston & Storrs, where he worked on real
estate development and land use matters, with an emphasis on
large-scale, complex projects. At Harvard, Mr. Rabinovitz is the
primary legal counsel to the Allston development project.

ELIZABETH SEAMAN |

Background: Ms. Seaman graduated from Middlebury
College, cum laude, and received her J.D., summa cum laude, from Boston
University School of Law. Following law school, she clerked for the
Honorable Juan R. Torruella of the United States Court of Appeals for
the First Circuit. Ms. Seaman then joined the Boston law firm of Palmer
& Dodge LLP where she practiced employment law for 12 years,
first as an associate and then as a partner of the firm. At Palmer
& Dodge, higher education clients made up a large part of her
practice. Ms. Seaman worked in the publishing industry before law
school.

AUDREY WANG |

Background: Ms. Wang received her A.B. magna cum laude
from Harvard College and her J.D. from Harvard Law School, where she
was Developments Editor of the Law Review. Before joining the Office of
the General Counsel, Ms. Wang was a partner in the Boston office of the
law firm DLA Piper Rudnick Gray Cary and prior to that a partner at
Hill & Barlow in Boston, where she concentrated her practice on
real estate development, land use planning, commercial leasing and
affordable housing.

MARILYN SCHRIEVER |

Ms. Schriever provides assistance, training, and client support
services in a range of practice areas, with particular emphasis on
labor and employment matters.
Ms. Schriever has a B.S. from Lesley College and an MBA
from Boston University with a concentration in nonprofit management.
She was previously employed as a Human Resources Consultant with the
Employment Practice Group of Bingham Dana, and prior to that had worked
at Harvard in staff positions in the Office of the General Counsel and
the Office of Human Resources.
